Support offered by the Environmental Sustainability Agency

HGA was put in contact with the Environmental Sustainability Agency who work with land-owning communities to develop agri-wildlife economies so that people and nature can thrive together. In support of the work we are doing to bolster food security within the rural communities of our district, they were able to arrange the sponsorship of 400 of Reel Gardening’s ‘household food gardens’ to HGA. The innovative product includes a variety of different vegetable seed packaged in biodegradable protective sleeves, each marked according to the planting requirements for that particular crop. The first 100 boxes will be delivered to communities in the Umzimkhulu area under the guidance of Dougie Strachan and his project participants there. We are grateful to be able to provide more households in our region with the opportunity to grow their own food.
